Professional Calligrapher Rachel Marks is offering two pointed pen calligraphy workshops this season at the beautiful Design Church on Indian Queen Lane in East Falls. These fun and relaxed small group workshops are perfect for people who are interested in learning and improving their skills in the meditative art of calligraphy. In both of these courses you will learn about the tools needed, warm-up exercises, letterforms, and more. All necessary materials and light refreshments will be provided. Treat yourself (and a friend) to a fun afternoon of learning to letter! $10 off each ticket when you purchase for yourself and a friend.

This fun and relaxed workshop will gather a small group of beginners to learn about the meditative art of calligraphy. We will learn about the tools needed, warm-up exercises, basic lowercase letterforms, and a brief history of Copperplate Calligraphy - a foundational script for Modern Calligraphy, Spencerian, and brush lettering.

this bold and vigorous alphabet allows for a high degree of personal interpretation.
Through a variety of projects we'll explore this modern, dramatic style
that can range from primitive to highly embellished.
